The VEML6040 is a small, low power, color sensor that incorporates photo diodes, amplifiers, and analog / digital circuits into a single CMOS chip. It provides an accurate response to red, green, blue, and white light and outputs the information over an easy to use I2C interface. Furthermore, it provides excellent temperature compensation, keeping the output stable under changing temperatures. GY also added an LED to improve measurements.
