Techonics: Your PCB Testing Partner

At Techonics, we understand the critical role of Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) testing in promising quality and functionality. That’s why every board goes through a series of tough tests before leaving our doors, ensuring you receive faultless products that meet your exact specifications. Here’s a breakdown of our complete testing process:

Visual Inspection:

Each of our Surface Mount Device (SMD) lines has a dedicated Quality Control (QC) inspector on standby. After assembly, they accurately examine the solder quality of each board, comparing it against the Bill of Materials (BOM) to confirm all components are present, correct, and positioned properly. Any Faults are immediately flagged and rectified before proceeding.

AOI and X-ray Testing

After the initial visual inspection, we dig deeper with Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) testing. This automated system scans the board, identifying and reporting potential issues like:

  • Missing or misplaced components.
  • Incorrect component polarity.
  • Insufficient or absent solder paste.
  • Cold solder joints.
  • Defective solder connections.

For Ball Grid Array (BGA) components, we add an extra layer of inspection using X-ray technology. This advanced technique allows us to peer inside the BGA package, ensuring proper solder connections and removing hidden defects that might compromise functionality.

Free Functional Testing

Once the board passes the visual and AOI/X-ray tests, it’s time to see if it works! We offer free-of-charge functional testing to verify that the assembly functions precisely as intended. This involves using test jigs and programs, often provided by our customers, to simulate real-world usage and identify any functional irregularities. If a customer doesn’t have their testing methods, our skilled engineers can create a custom solution specifically for their board.

Final Visual Inspection

Before receiving your final stamp of approval, the board undergoes a final visual inspection by our QC department. Utilizing magnifying glasses, our trained inspectors precisely examine the soldering for quality and consistency to ensure all components are securely attached and oriented correctly. Only boards that pass this final hurdle are shipped out, assuring you receive top-quality PCBs that perform perfectly.
