Raspberry Compute Module 3 is for designers who prefer Raspberry Pi3 functionality but require a smaller form factor (67.6 mm X 31 mm) for their embedded design. 

These modules are DDR2-SODIMM, mechanically compatible system-on-a-chip (SoM) that includes a BCM2837 processor system-on-a-chip (SoC) with 1 GB of LPDDR2 RAM and 4 GB of eMMC flash. In addition, these modules have an additional input/output (I/O) interface in addition to the Raspberry Pi Model A/B board.

Description:

The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 3 (CM3) are a DDR2-SODIMM-mechanically-compatible System on Modules (SoMs) containing processor, memory, eMMC Flash (CM3 only) and supporting power circuitry. These modules allow a designer to leverage the Raspberry Pi hardware and software stack in their own custom systems and form factors. In addition the modules have extra I/O interfaces over and above what is available on the Raspberry Pi model A/B boards, providing more options for the designer. This simplicity fosters rapid development. The Compute Module 3 contains the following components contained within a 200 pin SODIMM design:
  • Broadcom BCM2837 processor
  • 1Gbyte LPDDR2 RAM
  • 4Gbytes eMMC Flash
  • 35µ Hard gold plated I/O Pins
